MAKENNA LUKENS
Associate
Makenna Lukens is an Associate in our Philadelphia office, developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives, supporting media relations and researching complex issues for corporate and non-profit clients.
Makenna became a permanent part of the team in 2021 after a year as an intern. Prior to interning with Ceisler Media, Makenna had experiences working with nonprofit Valley Youth House and La Salle’s Athletics Department. Her work experience includes drafting internal and external communications, securing media placements, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, developing talking points for campaigns and crises and everything else in between.
Makenna graduated Maxima Cum Laude from La Salle University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and American Studies. As an active member of the La Salle community, she supported university leadership and alumni as vice president of the student ambassador program. She also served on the Communication Department Student Board, where she worked with faculty on curriculum and extracurricular programming.
Now, as an alumna, she works with the Alumni Association to plan the University’s Women in Leadership conference.
Outside of work, Makenna volunteers as a digital crisis counselor with The Trevor Project - the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ youth.
Makenna worked at one of the largest florists in the country throughout high school and college. She has made hundreds of floral arrangements for professional athletes, politicians, and family and friends.
As a loyal and obsessive fan, Makenna speaks fluent football and likes to remind people her eyes are green because of her allegiance to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Makenna returns to her high school each summer to support students as they write their college application essays. She’s found that the best essays discuss the topics you least expect. The best she’s ever read was about a simple bike ride in Germany.
